The front page of the Nelson Mail Tuesday 5 August 2014 about the first stage of the Nelson Provincial Museum's WWI centennial exhibition. As co-curator I had responsibility for the 'at home' stories of the province, as well as researching and writing many of the individual biographies of those who served or stayed in Nelson during the war.
A page three story in the Nelson Mail of Wednesday 6 August 2014 about the official opening of the Nelson Provincial Museum's commemorative exhibition: World War I: Their Stories, Our History. Museum chief executive Peter Millward is standing in front of the 'Nelson Mail' front page window with the stories and advertisements I selected and with the news of the day screen, which will change daily, reflecting what was happening both at war and at home for the Nelson province.
The launch itself was fabulous, with wonderful feedback from supporters, sponsors and families of servicemen and women. It was a proud moment for all of us in the exhibition team.
A Nelson Mail story on 23 April 2015 about the opening of the 1915 section of the Nelson Provincial Museum's WWI: Their Stories, Our History exhibition, with a photo of some of the museum team behind it, including me as content curator.
The Tasman Leader ran this great front page story of Alastair Rose's quest to get the story of his great grandfather, Captain Henry Rose, researched, written and published. My resulting book, Driven by the Wind, was published on 11 August 2019.
